Top 5 Venues for Scooter Birthday Parties

Top 5 Venues for Scooter Birthday Parties

Thinking about hosting a scooter party for a birthday or just because? Some of these ideas are inspired by Svolta's actual customers.

We're sharing our top 5 picks for venues to host scooter parties.

1. Traffic garden: "A set of small-sized streets with scaled-down traffic features where children and other new learners practice, learn and have fun in a place that is free from motor vehicles."

  • We love traffic playgrounds (traffic gardens)! Traffic playgrounds have been around in places like Copenhagen for a while now. We're starting to see them pop up around the United States on schoolyards in Portland, Oregon and D.C.. A couple of public parks with traffic gardens include Welleby Park in South Florida and Mountain's Edge Regional Park in Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • In Alberta, Canada, there's a place called Safety City. They host scooter birthday parties for kids ages 4-7. They teach kids about pedestrian and traffic safety during the party.

2. Large backyard

  • We had a customer purchase 16 Ace scooters for his daughter's scooter-themed birthday party. He ordered 8 scooters in teal and 8 in red. He built an entire scooter track (trike path) in his backyard for this party. This Oprah-style party sent guests home with their own Ace scooter. "You get a scooter! You get a scooter! You get a scooter!" You get the idea. Epic. This concept would also work as a budget-friendly option if you have guests bring their own scooter and helmet. :)

3. Large, open indoor space

  • Roller rink: You may be able to rent out your local roller rink for a non-rollerskating private event. With all the lights, music and snacks from the concession booth, it'll be a lively, fun-packed party! We know of a couple roller rinks that have scooter parties, including Classic Fun Center in Orem, Utah.
  • Indoor (basketball court) gym: Some schools or community centers regularly rent out their indoor basketball courts for private use, including birthday parties. Bring some cones and set up your own course!

4. Indoor playgrounds with roads or tricycle tracks

  • Indoor playgrounds sometimes have a tricycle track/road. Indoor playgrounds usually come stocked with their own small cars, plasma cars, tricycles and other ride-on toys for kids. If you want to bring in your own scooters, check with management for approval first.

5. Park with bike path

  • One of our favorite parks is Lacy Park in San Marino, California. The bike/walk path at Lacy Park is perfect for riding scooters or taking a stroll. Parks with bike paths is #5 on our list because of the potential crowding, which might pose an issue for an entire party of kids trying to ride scooters together. If you're able to go on a day that might be less crowded, then this could be a good option!

If you need scooter-themed party favors, check out Svolta's 'Gifts under $20' section for an assortment of stickers, keychains, t-shirts, puzzles and more!
