Cities include Pasadena, South Pasadena, Los Feliz, Eagle Rock, Monrovia, and Sierra Madre.

This is a shortlist of summer school and camp options compiled by local parents. Here, you'll find some new, local gems.
With the L.A. wildfires in January, some of the Altadena or Pasadena locations may have had to shutter their doors or find alternate campuses. We've verified this list below with locations that are open for the summer of 2025.
LEARNING LANGUAGES & CULTURE
While experts suggest having kids learn new languages at an early age, it's never too late to start! Check out these summer language classes and camps for students of all ages.
Hikari Japanese Academy provides Japanese language and culture classes for kids as young as 3 years old all the way through the teenage years. Hikari also offers classes for adults in-person at their Sierra Madre location or through a live online format.
This summer, Hikari Japanese Academy is offering a two-week summer camp session for young teens. The classes take place at the Sierra Madre location. Space is limited to 8 learners.
Oasis Trilingual Community School located in Monrovia, just east of Arcadia, is offering a summer camp for kids ages 4-10. During this indoor-outdoor camp, learners are immersed in English, Mandarin, and Spanish, while participating in inquiry-based classes: PE, music, art, Makerspace, STEM, cooking, math, and more. Small class sizes. The deadline to enroll is May 16th.
For kids, teens, and adults seeking an online-only, independent Mandarin learning program, YoYo Chinese provides a budget-friendly, effective solution.
Ecole Du Soleil is a French immersion summer camp located in Los Feliz. This summer camp caters to students in preschool (as young as 2 years old) through 5th grade. Campers learn and practice the French language while enjoying activities in sports, arts, crafts, singing, and reading. Each week centers on a new, fun theme.
La Petite Ecole Francaise in Pasadena offers regularly scheduled live online French language and culture classes for adults in beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. They also offer private and semi-private live online classes for learners of all ages, including kids and teens. Caroline, the owner of La Petite Ecole Francaise, is praised as being a phenomenal teacher who has helped her students learn with ease.
CREATIVE LIFE SKILLS
Saute Academy in Monrovia offers week-long summer camps for students ages 6 to 14, where kids and teens learn to cook and bake. Students enjoy learning the culinary arts in small class sizes and through hands-on learning. In addition to their Monday through Friday summer camps, Saute Academy provides one-off cooking and baking classes for kids every Saturday morning.
Separate from their classes and camps for younger kids, Saute Academy offers summer evening culinary and baking camps just for teens, ages 13 to 18. One-off evening class options are also available for adults.
For learners interested in fashion, sewing or clothing construction, Meraki Creative Lounge in Eagle Rock is hosting an assortment of week-long summer camps for kids ages 8 to teens. Camp sessions are offered for complete beginners, intermediate, and advanced sewing students. Each session is limited to just 6 learners. Some sessions have already sold out.
SPORTS
Young Kings Basketball in Pasadena provides an indoor summer camp for kids ages 7 to 15. Campers are grouped by age and skill level. This is the basketball summer camp where kids go to 'level up' their skills. Young Kings Basketball was founded by Coach Yaro, a former NBA Clippers player. Weekly basketball camps are taught by Coach Yaro and his team of experienced, professional basketball coaches. Read more about the coaching staff here.
The Peter Barrow Summer Jr. Golf Camp at Eaton Canyon Golf Course in Pasadena offers a beginner level, introductory golf camp experience to kids ages 6 to 13. 3-day session weekly golf camps include meals and snacks.
